Start the year 2021 with ONE LESS Debt

January 2020, we started the year off in the worst possible way. We ADDED to our the THOUSANDS! Ugh it still hurts to think about.

You know what they have to hit rock bottom before you care enough to make any changes. Well I still don't know who "they" are but they're right. I was disappointed, angry and spent. I knew that things had to change. I wanted to make 2020 my year (ha!)

In spite of the horrible events taking place the world over, we were able to regain control of our finances quickly by doing these 3 things:

  1. Stop being in denial (sound familiar??) 😏 It should because I just spoke about it on my recent blog collaboration here:

  2. Add up every transaction & decide how quickly you want to pay it off. I was shocked that the damage we had done could be paid off in 3 months. I breathed the deepest sigh of relief. There's something about having a plan and seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

  3. Don't buy anything with a credit card until that debt is repaid. Trust me, if you stop spending for 3-6 months straight, you develop a new habit of not swiping. I surprised myself. After awhile, I noticed that I left my credit cards at home and used cash more often.

So take the plunge. Step out on faith in yourself. Have the courage to do what most won't. Win with your money starting NOW. Start 2021 off right for once like we plan to.
